Divide meetings into sub-groups to facilitate discussion using breakout rooms

The new breakout rooms feature in Microsoft Teams was released on Friday, December 11. Teams breakout rooms allow meeting organizers to divide the meeting into sub-groups to help with discussions and brainstorming sessions.
Currently, the breakout rooms feature is only available in the desktop version of the app and only meeting organizers can start breakout rooms. However, participants can join a breakout room using any device.
How to add breakout rooms to your Teams desktop app
- Ensure you have the latest version of Teams installed.
- In Teams, click your profile picture and go to Settings.
- In the General section of Settings, check the box beside “Turn on new meeting experience.”
- Quit and restart Teams.
