Friday night lights
It’s time to dust off your old Bison gear (or pick up some new gear at the U of M Bookstore) and come cheer on the Bisons at the annual Homecoming football game. Investors Group Field will teem with supporters of the Brown & Gold as the University of Manitoba Bisons host the Regina Rams on Friday, October 2. Kick-off is at 7:00 PM.
Start the excitement with some family fun on the concourse of Investors Group Field. Ticket holders are welcome to join interactive activities, games, food, mascots, music and more prior to kick-off.
Students get in free, and any students in attendance have a chance to win $1000 towards tuition from BMO.
The Bisons are still searching for their first home win of the season. The team dropped a 38-46 decision to the Calgary Dinos in the home opener on September 11, and was edged 48-51 by the UBC Thunderbirds a week later on September 19. Their two wins of the season have come on the road, beating the Saskatchewan Huskies (34-28 on September 4), and last week against the Alberta Golden Bears (42-32 on September 25).
A win this weekend could vault the Bisons into third place in the Canada West standings. With the conference bye next weekend, the herd will want to head into the break on a good note.
Manitoba recently hosted Regina for the Homecoming game in 2013. That game resulted in a 34-15 win for the Bison in their first season at Investors Group Field. In the last 10 years, the Bisons have a 6-4 record in the annual Homecoming game.
