Recruiting for Bringing in the Bystander 2019-2020

Sexual violence has been and continues to be a pressing concern for post-secondary students all over Canada. It can include, but is not limited to: street harassment, unwanted contact, sexual assault and stalking. In order to help contribute to a culture of safety on campus—Student Support at the University of Manitoba is recruiting paid facilitators and a program assistant for a sexual violence prevention program called Bringing in the Bystander™

More and more Canadians are reaching old age and Canada’s population as a whole is aging. By 2031, an estimated one in four Canadians will be aged 65 or older. This population shift includes a boom in the number of Canadians aged 85 or older – particularly, centenarians.

In 2016, the University of Manitoba became Canada’s first Age-friendly University. At that time, it joined a global network of Age-friendly Universities, established by Dublin City University in Ireland. Globally the network now extends to more than 50 universities.
