Tax season is a heady time for fraudsters who hope to take advantage of seasonal anxiety to scam Canadians out of their money. Of course, tax season isn't the only time scammers have their way. Two common types of fraud that often threaten organizations are phishing and business email compromise (BEC) scams. These frauds are meticulously designed to appear credible, often leaving individuals and businesses vulnerable to significant losses.
Tier Building to reopen Monday

Normal use of Tier will resume Monday morning, and all scheduled classes can proceed as planned. Tier was temporarily closed following a small fire that took place in a fifth-floor washroom the evening of Thursday, March 21.

The University of Manitoba has been named among Manitoba’s Top 100 Employers (2024), as well as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers (2024) by Mediacorp Canada inc., Canada’s largest employment periodicals publisher. This is the thirteenth consecutive Manitoba’s Top Employer designation and eighth consecutive Canada’s Best Diversity Employer designation for UM.
