Career Compass

Map your career pathway from the start of your academic journey

June 3, 2016 —

Looking to get an early jump on planning your academic studies? Are you hoping to engage in activities that will increase your employability upon graduation? The University of Manitoba has recently released ten Career Compasses that will provide you with the information you need.

Each Career Compass will lead you to resources that you can access and opportunities to get involved in for an exceptional student experience.

The compasses include information about:

  • academic/career planning specific to your program
  • campus resources
  • experiential education experiences to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes that employers are seeking
  • career opportunities related to each major
  • alumni stories to learn how past alumni have put their degree to work

Using the Career Compass as a guide will help you develop a stronger connection between your studies and career of choice.

Career Compasses can be accessed online at: umanitoba.ca/careercompass. Paper versions are also available through your faculty or at Career Services. The university plans to release 21 more compasses throughout the year with a total 31 compasses catered to specific academic programs.
