International Post-secondary Student of the Year announced

Willer Ferreira da Silva Junior is the 2014 post-secondary recipient of the MCIE/IEB International Student of the Year Award. Willer is a Science Without Borders scholarship student from Brazil and is in the English language studies and international program through Extended Education at the U of M.

During his time at the U of M he has exhibited exceptional qualities both academically and professionally in his chosen field of bio-systems engineering.

The International Student of the Year Awards are given out annually by the Manitoba Council for International Education (MCIE) and the International Education Branch of the Government of Manitoba (IEB) to recognize the contributions of international students to the Manitoba community. Willer received a monetary prize of $200 and a certificate presented by the Honourable Peter Bjornson, Minister of Education and Advanced Learning, during the International Education Week reception at the Manitoba Legislature on November 17, 2014.
