Join me Sept. 28 for our first President’s Town Hall: UM Budget
Message from Michael Benarroch, President and Vice-Chancellor
September 28 is my first President’s Town Hall focused on UM’s budget process and financial health, and I welcome all interested faculty, staff and students to join us in-person or online.
As I said in my Fall Term welcome message, I value every opportunity to connect with this community and I see this town hall as a meaningful way to demonstrate transparency and engage on these important topics.
Mike Emslie, UM’s Chief Financial Officer and Comptroller, and I will provide a detailed presentation and answer any questions you may have about the budget. Following the town hall, we will also be sending out a budget survey to garner additional community input.
I began hosting budget town halls while I was provost at what is now Toronto Metropolitan University, and I sincerely look forward to holding my first such event as UM President now that we are back on campus in full capacity.
You can find more details on the town hall website. A reminder that we are asking those who want to attend in-person to RSVP by Sept. 23 to rsvp@umanitoba.ca so we can ensure there’s room for everyone.
Thank you all for your contributions to making this a thriving community. I hope you will join us and share your feedback.
-Dr. Michael Benarroch,
President and Vice-Chancellor
