University-wide Zoom educational access coming September 1, 2021
Zoom access for UM faculty, students, and staff
Remote learning and work environments have increased the requirements for video conferencing across the university. Information Services Technology and The Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning are implementing university-wide educational access to Zoom for Education, to complement our existing collaboration tools, Webex and Microsoft Teams.
As with the other videoconferencing tools, Zoom access will allow you to host meetings, connect with students, and participate webinars and events.
Zoom will be available to faculty, students and staff by September 1, 2021.
FAQ: What if I am already using my own or unit version of Zoom?
The university has a process to migrate existing personal or faculty/department licences to our university-wide Zoom account.
If you have not done so, please contact Ewa Zalewska (ewa.zalewska[at]umanitoba[dot]ca) ASAP and provide:
- Your Zoom account number (if known)
- Name of the account holder/user
- The email address used to log in to Zoom
- The type of license (if known) (i.e., Basic, Standard, Professional…)
- If you use Zoom for large meetings/events or have any add-ons like Marketplace
In August, we will send further details about accessing Zoom, its integration with UM Learn, and other features.
