Take Our Kids to Work Day is back for 2023
Faculty and staff can register now for Nov. 1 programming
Take Our Kids to Work Day is an event for participating Grade 9 students to learn about the diverse roles and jobs in the current labour market. It is an opportunity for students to explore career options by spending a day at the workplace of their parent, relative, friend or volunteer host.
Launched in 1994 by The Learning Partnership, now led by Students Commission of Canada (SCC), this initiative has become the most recognized career exploration event in Canada.
The University of Manitoba is proud to host the annual Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKTWD) event on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 for students of staff and faculty members. This is our first in-person TOKTWD event since 2019 and we are excited to bring the programming back to both the Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses.
Students can job-shadow their UM host for the full-day or participate in the scheduled programming. Registration is now open and all details are outlined out below. Registration is not required for job-shadowing—simply make those arrangements with your supervisor. To have your Grade 9 student join in programmed activities, read on for more information, including registration details.
