My first four years were spent at the Richardson Centre for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals (RCFFN) running clinical trials looking at certain foods and ingredients such as novel oils and their effect on cardiovascular disease risk factors, or on other chronic illnesses such as diabetes.

As a registered dietitian working in sport nutrition I wear several hats. I work full time as the director of sport dietetics at the Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba (CSCM). At the CSCM I work with an integrated support team consisting of an exercise physiologist, strength and conditioning coaches, a sport psychologist, athlete services manager, the communications and marketing coordinator and the general manager of the centre.
