
Student email restored
Students and alumni now have a new Inbox for myumanitoba.ca email messages
UPDATE – September 4, 2020
All student email messages are now available in your @myumanitoba.ca mailbox. All official communication from the University of Manitoba will be sent to your @myumanitoba.ca email address.
To access your mailbox:
- Visit http://portal.office.com (or http://365.myumanitoba.ca).
- Sign-in using your UMnetID@myumanitoba.ca email address and password.
- Select Outlook.
To access your new mailbox using a mobile device or Outlook on a computer, you must add a new account with your @myumanitoba.ca email address and password. See Add an email account to Outlook for detailed instructions.

Student email access has been restored. University of Manitoba students can access their email at http://365.myumanitoba.ca. Your email messages will appear in your new Inbox gradually. Your most recent email will appear first, followed by older email over a period of a few weeks.
- Waitlist Resumed: Aurora Waitlist notifications have resumed. The Registrar has begun notifying waitlisted students of course availability. Waitlist notifications will appear in your new Inbox.
- Add Files to One Drive: To re-add files to your new OneDrive folder, follow these instructions. Any files saved to OneDrive that were not downloaded to your computer prior to the outage were not moved over are no longer available.
Enrolled students:
As of August 24, all enrolled students have a new Inbox. You will see all of your email in your new Inbox within the next few weeks. To access any newer email messages i.e. received within the last four weeks, log into your old Inbox.
Alumni and accepted students:
As of August 24, all accepted students (not currently registered for classes) and alumni have a new Inbox. To access all messages received before August 24, log in to your old Inbox.
How to access your new and old Inboxes
To access your new Inbox:
- Visit https://portal.office.com (or https://365.myumanitoba.ca).
- Sign-in using your UMnetID@myumanitoba.ca email address and password.
- If you logged into portal.office.com, select Outlook to access your email.
To access your old Inbox:
- Visit https://portal.office.com.
- Sign in using UMnetID@myumanitoba.onmicrosoft.com and your password.
- Select Outlook.
