Law Professor’s Focus Leads to Merit Award
October 10, 2017 —
News of having won a 2016 Merit award for a combination of teaching, service and research, scholarly work and other creative activities came to Dr. Shauna Labman as a complete surprise this October. As a teacher, her goal is to engage her students as much as possible to ensure they learn in a concrete, experiential and thoughtful way.

Celebrating Student Achievement
October 5, 2017 —
Every year the Faculty of Law celebrates student achievement with a formal gathering and reception held at Robson Hall. In keeping with this tradition, Drs. James and Sandra Pitblado visit Robson Hall to present Pitblado scholarships in person to the Dean's Honour Roll students, consisting of the top 10% of students.

Muriel St. John Research Award for Women’s Legal Issues

Each year since her retirement in 2011, Muriel St. John has provided $500 to be awarded to a J.D. student at the University of Manitoba to encourage research into legal issues pertaining to women, social justice and societal rights. Criteria for the award are found on the Robson Hall website.

Orientation Week: Robson Hall Welcomes Law Class of 2020 with Focus on Integrity, Professionalism, and Awareness of Indigenous Legal Traditions

Robson Hall's Orientation Week included a Welcome address from the Chief Justice of Manitoba, a Blanket Ceremony and talk from Loretta Ross, the Treaty Commissioner of Manitoba, to raise awareness of Indigenous legal traditions, and a visit to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
