MATLAB and Simulink now available for all students

This licence provides unlimited use of the MATLAB and Simulink product families

August 31, 2021 —

The University of Manitoba is pleased to announce that we have purchased a campus-wide licence for MathWorks Software. This licence provides unlimited use of the MATLAB and Simulink product families, as well as their companion toolboxes, to all students, faculty, staff and researchers, both on and off campus, and on any device.

  • MATLAB allows you to analyze data, develop algorithms and create mathematical models.
  • Simulink gives you the ability to run simulations, generate code, and test and verify embedded systems.

Nothing has changed with the current MATLAB version some students are using through their VPN login or the computer labs on campus. What is new is another way to access MATLAB. You can now create an account on MATLAB Online and download MATLAB applications to any workstation and/or device in any location.

After an initial pilot and staged implementation, MATLAB is now available to the entire UM community.

Visit the IST MATLAB webpage for detailed access and support information.
