Message from Warden and Vice-Chancellor, Allison Abra celebrating St John’s College accomplishments from 2023.

I hope you enjoy this video retrospective of our last year at St John’s College. It’s been a wonderful year the first normal feeling one since the pandemic where we have welcomed new students, fellows, and staff to our community. We have celebrated academic excellence through Convocation and graduation banquet, awarded many scholarships to our students, and seen our fellows produce incredible scholarship, and have had wonderful visits with alumni here in Winnipeg and across Canada.

That’s the best part of my job is connecting with all of you at different stages of your life in connection to the College and so I hope to see you in 2024.

In the meantime, I wish you a happy holiday season, everyone at the College is, and a wonderful new year.

Over a decade ago, Dr. Friesen set out to write a biography on the former premier. What started as a small part of his thesis work as a Ph.D. student at the University of Toronto later became a project Gerald pursued after finishing his forty-year teaching career at the University of Manitoba.
