Faculties and units can participate in the 2024 Indigenous Summer Student Internship Program
Submit funding applications by February 22, 2024
Human Resources is once again pleased to offer the Indigenous summer student internship program (ISSIP).
The internship is a great opportunity for UM Indigenous students to receive valuable experience in their field of study.
The program will run for a total of 16 weeks, commencing May 6. Interns will work 35 hours per week in their respective internship. A total of eight internships are available for funding, with 50% of interns’ salary will be reimbursed through Human Resources, while the host faculties or units are responsible for covering the remaining cost.
“We are thrilled to offer the program again this year,” expresses René Ouellette, Associate Vice-President (Human Resources).
“This presents an exceptional opportunity for Indigenous students to gain invaluable hands-on experience in their respective fields of study or related areas, guided by esteemed community leaders,” he says.
All faculties and units are invited to submit funding applications no later than Thursday, February 22.
Students will be able to find the job postings on UM Careers by Friday, March 8.
Application forms and additional information about the program can be found on the Indigenous Summer Student Internship Program UM Intranet site.
