Discover your future in healthcare 2025

Sessions run on February 18 and 20, 2025

February 6, 2025 —

Do you have passion or interest in helping others with their mental health and well-being? If so, you may want to consider a career in the field of healthcare. Most of us are familiar with a few of the most well-known healthcare occupations. After all, we’ve likely visited a doctor for a cold, been to the dentist office for a routine cleaning with the dental hygienist, saw a physiotherapist for a sports injury, or observed a nurse in action caring for a loved one. However, many of us would be surprised to learn that there are many different occupations in the field of healthcare, more than we may have ever imagined!

If you’re interested in learning more about pathways to becoming a therapist, be sure to attend one or more of the Discover Your Future in Healthcare  (DYFIH) virtual sessions or check out one of the recorded sessions and discover the many healthcare options available for you! Career Services will be highlighting a few healthcare occupations this year including:

  • DYFIH – Art Therapist: Tuesday, February 18 | 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
  • DYFIH – Mental Health Therapist/Counsellor: Thursday, February 20 | 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.
    • This session will have panel members with Clinical Psychology background, M.Ed in Counselling Psychology, Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Masters in Social Work

Each session in the series offers the chance to learn first-hand about the occupation and will feature a few professionals from the field who will speak about their experiences in the role. Admissions and academic program information will also be highlighted, if applicable.

All sessions will be virtual. Register in advance on UMConnect to reserve your spot today!
