Building the foundation for a bright future

February 18, 2020 —

A message from graduate student Anita Murdock:

Do you believe clean drinking water is a fundamental human right? I do.

Unfortunately, many people in Manitoba still live with inadequate drinking water due to bacterial contamination.

My name is Anita Murdock and I’m a UM microbiology graduate student. Thanks to support from UM community members like you, I’ve received funding which has helped me make an even bigger impact while working with Indigenous communities in Northern Manitoba to address the issue of contaminated drinking water. We’re making progress and our research has already helped secure funding to upgrade water systems in some communities.

My story is just one of many. Donations from forward-thinking people are crucial to our success. Your gift will work to build the foundation for a bright future for all of us.

The University of Manitoba’s historic Front and Centre campaign wraps up on Feb. 28 – a campaign that benefits our students, our research, and our community as a whole.

I’m asking you to make your gift and join the over 60,000 UM community members who have already taken their place Front and Centre.

It takes all of us and your support makes a difference.

Make Your Gift

Thank you in advance,

Anita Murdock
