Faculty of Law recognizes contributions of law students to community outside of academic achievement

June 14, 2019 —

Each year, it is a Robson Hall tradition to present certain student awards at the annual graduating class dinner and dance that recognize students above and beyond their academic achievements. These awards honour students for extra-curricular activities, hurdles crossed to achieve success, and contributions made to the community at large. Robson Hall congratulates these extraordinary students who earned these singular awards.

This year, awards and winners were as follows:

Class of 1980 Prize – Danielle Morrison
(Given annually to a Law student in any Year of the LL.B. program for outstanding involvement (either as an organizer or as a participant or both) in the extra-curricular activities of the Faculty of Law, including M.L.S.A. positions, responsibilities, and activities, moot court competitions, Legal Aid Clinic, Law Journal and intra-mural sports.)

Susan Loadman Memorial Award – Raven-Dominique Gobeil
(This is awarded annually to a graduating student who has demonstrated determination and perseverance in progressing in his or her law studies despite significant obstacles to such progress.)

Kim Clare Memorial – Stefanie Reece
(Offered each year to a third-year student who is graduating from Robson Hall’s JD Program who has demonstrated a strong commitment to the values of Legal Help Centre of Winnipeg Inc. (“LHC”) and Access to Justice over the course of their academic career.)

Class of 2019 Humanitarian Award – Bethany Hutlet
(Recognizing outstanding students taking leadership in human rights initiatives.)
