New Researcher Workshops starting fall 2017

Enhance Your Technical Expertise, Expand Your Research Presence

September 5, 2017 —

UM Libraries offers a Researcher Workshop series at the Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses focusing on the bibliographic tools and resources needed by researchers, faculty members and graduate students.

Beginning in October 2017 and running until May 2018, these sessions include returning topics such as using citation managers (i.e. EndNote, Mendeley or Zotero) to stay organized with your research, as well as new workshops including in-depth Scopus training and navigating Dataverse — a repository available through the Libraries that can be used to store and share data.

Having received many questions about Open Access (OA) journals in recent months, librarians will also offer a webinar that highlights common traits of predatory publishers in October, coinciding with Academic Integrity Month.

Attending one or even several of the sessions offered through this series can help you discover the best tools, techniques and strategies to benefit your work, and remain on track with current goals and projects.

Sessions typically run for an hour at time. Researcher Workshops are held at both the Fort Garry and Bannatyne Campuses, as well as online via webinar.
