WPS TIPS Line Seeking Info — UPDATED (07-09-14)

UPDATED: The suspect in the indecent act has been identified by the witness; University of Manitoba Security Services were called and the suspect was turned over to Winnipeg Police for processing.

Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) is investigating a report of indecent exposure that occurred in the Gritty Grotto this past Sunday (July 6, 2014).

According to WPS, while a 22 year-old female was working out, she noticed that an unknown male had been watching her while he exposed himself and performed an indecent act. The victim yelled out causing the suspect to leave the area.  No contact was made and the victim was uninjured.

All fitness facilities, including the Gritty Grotto, are open for business as usual with additional security measures in place to protect the safety of facility users.

The investigation is continuing by members of the West District Crime Unit. Anyone with further information regarding the incident and or suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
