Wpg Sun: Ovide Mercredi elected NDP president

The Winnipeg Sun reports on Ovide Mercredi, former Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and Senior Advisory to the University of Manitoba. Mercredi was elected President of the Manitoba NDP.

“There have been many firsts for me … when I was a university student here in the 1970s along with other aboriginal students, there were 11 of us, now there are 2,000 at the U of M,” he told the Sun. “I am still remembered by the students at the U of M and they inspire my legacy.”
