Playoffs begin this weekend on campus

February 12, 2015 —

Playoff season will begin when the Bison volleyball teams both compete in the Canada West Quarterfinals this weekend. The men’s team finished fourth in the Canada West conference and will host UBC this weekend. Meanwhile the women’s team finished in sixth place and will travel to face UBC Okanagan.

The #6 ranked men’s volleyball team will host #8 ranked UBC in a best-of-three playoff series on February 13, 14 and 15 at Investors Group Athletic Centre. This is the first time the Bisons have hosted a playoff series since the 2011-12 season when they beat UBC Okanagan en route to a CIS bronze medal finish.

The women’s volleyball team is in for a test when they begin their national championship defence against #2 ranked UBC Okanagan. The best-of-three series will take place February 13, 14 and 15 in Kelowna, BC.

Also on campus this weekend, the women’s hockey team closes out their regular season with a pair of games against the Calgary Dinos at Wayne Fleming Arena. The February 13 and 14 matchups will be an opportunity for the Bisons to tune up in preparation for the Canada West playoffs beginning next week.

On the road:

  • The Bisons basketball teams close out their regular seasons on the road against the UBC Thunderbirds on February 13 and 14.
  • The Bisons track team heads to South Dakota State University for the SDSU Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
