UM Sustainability Awards: Nominate someone today!

March 20, 2024 —

Do you have a co-worker, faculty member or student who shows leadership, creativity and dedication to sustainability on campus? If so, nominate them for a 2024 UM Sustainability Award.

The UM Sustainability Awards recognize and celebrate the collaborative efforts of University of Manitoba students, faculty and staff in advancing our commitment to excellence and leadership in sustainability.

Past sustainability awards have recognized a collaboration of UM community members who transformed an underutilized courtyard into an ecologically sustainable garden, a long-time faculty member whose teaching on the Sustainable Development Goals has influenced countless graduates to enter the fields of planning and sustainability, an energetic student group that is helping to solve food inaccessibility in Canada’s northernmost communities, and many more impressive projects and community members.

The sixth annual UM Sustainability Awards offer the opportunity to be recognized in the following categories:

  • Undergraduate sustainability
  • Graduate sustainability
  • Student group sustainability
  • Staff sustainability
  • Faculty sustainability
  • Collaborative sustainability

The deadline for nominations is Mar. 27. Applications will be reviewed and award recipients will be selected by the UM Sustainability Committee. The 2024 winners will be announced on Earth Day, Apr. 22, 2024.
