UM Employee and Family Assistance Program has a new name

LifeWorks renamed TELUS Health One after acquisition

August 28, 2023 —

The University of Manitoba Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) is now called TELUS Health One after TELUS acquired LifeWorks in late 2022. Little else will change during the transition, with EFAP services and benefits remaining the same for UM employees.

Employees can continue to use all the features, tools, and services they accessed via LifeWorks, and may see both the LifeWorks and TELUS Health One names on websites or other materials during the 2023 transition period. UM EFAP intranet pages have been updated to reflect the change in name.

EFAP contact numbers and website to stay the same

To ease the brand transition, the EFAP telephone numbers and website URL will remain the same:

While the EFAP website retains its URL for now, it has been rebranded as TELUS Health One, and you can continue to access digital support resources there. Login credentials for the website remain the same:

  • Username: canadalife
  • Password: lifeworks

Mobile app updates

The LifeWorks app is now the TELUS Health One app. Any UM employees who previously downloaded the LifeWorks app will see it renamed TELUS Health One the next time they complete an app update. Login credentials for the app remain the same:

  • Username: canadalife
  • Password: lifeworks

The TELUS Health One website and app offer many resources and information for financial, family mental and physical health and well-being, including:

  • Toolkits for a broad range of personal and professional issues, from sleep health to coping with illness to parenting
  • Nutrition and fitness professionals
  • Mental health, addictions and stress/burnout, with free, confidential counselling support
  • Assistance with creating a will and financial advice on budgeting and investing
  • Support for conflict and communication, marriage and divorce, caring for children and other family members and more

If you have any questions about the change, please feel free to contact benefits@umanitoba.ca.
