Three Faculty of Science Students take home prizes from Undergraduate Research Poster Competition
Students win 1st and 2nd place awards
The Faculty of Science congratulates all of the students who won in this year’s Undergraduate Research Poster Competition and is proud to highlight the three students from the Faculty of Science who took home prizes in the Applied Sciences and Natural Sciences categories:
Applied Sciences
2nd – Wolfgang Klassen (Physics/Science)
Project: Development of a large area MCP based proton detector for use in Nab experimental design

Natural Sciences
1st – Matthew Genung (Chemistry/Science)
Project: Investigation in 2′ 5′ Oligoadenylate Synthetase 2 activity via double stranded RNA
Research Supervisor: Dr. Sean McKenna
2nd – Ashley Bell (Biological Sciences/Science)
Project: Elongin B Involvement in Arabidopsis thaliana Germination on Stress Media
