Canola proteins could be the solution to free the planet

How do we drop our reliance on plastic packaging? The answer just might be found in a field of canola and in a UM lab.  Meet Thilini Dissanayake – the brilliant mind behind the 2023 Distinguished Masters Thesis Prize-winning research around canola proteins that just might free our planet from plastic pollution. Dissanyake’s work supervised by Dr. Nandika Bandara, Canada Research Chair in Food Proteins and Bioproducts in the Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences.
