Take Our Kids To Work Day a success
The University of Manitoba hosted this year’s Take Our Kids To Work Day today, Wednesday, November 5, as part of the province-wide initiative for Grade 9 students who spend a day at work job shadowing a parent, relative, friend, or volunteer host.
The experience assists students in understanding the importance of staying in school, helps them to gain an appreciation of the working world and demonstrates the connection between education and the future. The U of M supports this program because it is a great way to highlight the diversity of roles at our university and to develop connections with future U of M students.
As an active supporter of Take Our Kids to Work, the U of M again developed a day-long program for Grade 9 students. The day included exposure to a variety of occupations, fun activities and workshops highlighting the diverse work happening on our campus.
