Dr. Tara Horrill, assistant professor at the College of Nursing, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, was first drawn to research about a decade ago, while working as an oncology nurse at CancerCare Manitoba.

On-campus exhibit explores healing through art

January 6, 2023 — 
A pop-up exhibit on the Fort Garry campus will display artworks by 32 cancer patients who participated in a novel therapy group at CancerCare Manitoba.  The free exhibit will be on view Jan. 16 and 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the atrium of the Helen Glass Centre for Nursing, home of the College of Nursing, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences.

Monika Warren [BN/90] says her proudest leadership moments always involve interprofessional teamwork. “When you include everyone’s voice in the conversation, the team feels empowered and will work together to find innovative solutions,” says Warren, who was appointed by Shared Health in January 2022 as Manitoba’s new chief operating officer for provincial health services and chief nursing officer.
