As part of the ongoing efforts for the School Experiences Office to improve the experiences of our teacher candidates and faculty advisors, at the end of 2011-12 practicum B.Ed. teacher candidates were asked to complete an online evaluation form regarding their faculty advisors. Faculty advisors were also asked to complete a self-evaluation. Those B.Ed. teacher candidates who successfully completed the evaluation were entered to win a $50 gift certificate to McNally Robinson, an independent Manitoba bookstore. We are happy to announce the winner is Erin Ward, a teacher candidate entering her second year in the senior years stream.
The data from the evaluation provides valuable feedback to Dr. Melanie Janzen, Director of the School Experiences Office. When appropriate, feedback is provided to faculty advisors for their professional growth. Steps are taken to protect the anonymity of teacher candidates, such as not passing on any comments that may identify a student or in situations where a there is only one teacher candidate working with a faculty advisor.
