A Two-Spirit Journey: The Autobiography of a Lesbian Ojibwa-Cree Elder by Ma-Nee Chacaby, with Mary Louisa Plummer, was championed in the competition by Shayla Stonechild, the award-winning TV host of APTN's Red Earth Uncovered and the founder of the Matriarch Movement, "a non-profit organization dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices through story, meditation, movement, and medicine."
