On-campus operations and maintenance
There have been some questions about campus operations and maintenance during the university closures due to COVID-19.
The University is now closed and buildings are locked down; we are operating with basic essential services only. These are unprecedented times for the University, and we are doing everything we can to ensure that our essential services are being maintained.
Please help us to maintain the following essential services by following the instructions below. Please note that Operations and Maintenance cannot respond to requests for building access.

Will mail services be provided to campus?
Since the University of Manitoba’s closing on March 16, Central Stores and Mail Services has continued to receive all Mail, Parcels and Packages addressed to the University of Manitoba’s various departments. Parcels, and packages will be held in the Stores Building at 79 Freedman Crescent for both UM campuses.
Alternative arrangements can be made, including deliveries on certain days of the week, or deliveries to one location for multiple departments. Should you wish to have your mail, parcel or package delivered or picked up during this time, please contact the Mail Services 204-474-8748 to make arrangements. For alternative arrangements for pickups at or deliveries to Departments, contact the Customer Service Desk at 204-474-6281 or the Maintenance Request system.

Will Physical Plant maintenance services still be provided to the campus?
Our campuses are now closed. Operations and Maintenance (Physical Plant) is currently operational and will provide services across campus. Staff will be attending buildings during the week to ensure critical building systems are operating as expected. If any Faculty or Staff have concerns, they should contact the Customer Service Desk at 204-474-6281 or the Maintenance Request system.
Will buildings be cleaned and garbage collected?
Though our campuses are now closed, basic caretaking and garbage collection services will be maintained. Any garbage inside offices should be placed in a prominent location outside the office for collection. If there are any requests for specific cleaning requirements or concerns, please contact the Customer Service Desk at 204-474-6281 or the Maintenance Request system.
