On August 1, 2023 Dr. Jan Stewart began her appointment as the new dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Stewart will also hold a position as tenured Professor in the Department of Educational Administration, Foundations and Psychology.

On May 26th and 27th, three University of Manitoba faculty co-hosted a symposium, Public Conversations About Privatization: Rejecting the Marketization of Public School Systems in Canada, at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) in Toronto, Ontario.

Dr. Frank Deer, Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Education at the Faculty of Education, was among researchers invited by the Speaker of the House of Commons to attend the Parliament Hill Research Showcase in Ottawa on June 8th.
