Winnipeg Mayor visits engineering student teams

July 11, 2023 — 
Winnipeg Mayor, Scott Gillingham paid a visit to the Price Faculty of Engineering on Saturday, July 8, 2023. The goal of the visit was to talk to students on the UMSAE teams and learn about what they do. He also got the unexpected opportunity to be strapped into the Baja vehicle and took a ride around the parking lot!

UMTIG recognized as research group

July 6, 2023 — 
Urban Mobility and Transportation Informatics Group (UMTIG) is a group focused on excellence in the areas of urban mobility and transportation informatics and bringing high quality results to their partners and clients. Although UMTIG has been an institution on campus since the 1990’s they were recently recognized as a research group by the University of Manitoba.

Civil engineering student project wins first place at national competition

A team of undergraduate civil engineering students placed first in the 2023 National Student Capstone Design Competition with their project aimed to improve active transportation networks in Winnipeg.

National Indigenous Peoples Day and National Indigenous History Month celebrate the history, culture, traditions and contributions of First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples across all of Turtle Island.  One of the extraordinary young alumni we are honouring for his contributions and successes is Mihskakwan James Harper, who will receive UM’s Distinguished Alumni Award for Outstanding Young Alumni for 2023.
