February 14, 2024 —

As an aspiring educator, Audrey’s journey has been full of opportunities to teach middle years and high school classes including subjects like Food and Nutrition, Family studies, Science, and Biology. Her choice to pursue Education was clear, “I knew that pursuing a career in this field was the right path for me. Throughout my diverse experiences working as a health professional, disability support services coordinator, and community educator, I have seen how education can promote literacy and understanding in all areas of Human Ecology and Sciences. I can use my knowledge and skills to make an even greater impact on individuals and communities alike. I am passionate about the opportunities that education can provide and am excited to dedicate myself to this profession”.

For Audrey, the most exciting and rewarding part about Education are the connections made with students and the constant guiding toward knowledge and self-discovering journey. “It’s rewarding to see their faces light up when they grasp a challenging concept. I also enjoy continuously improving my skills and knowledge and sharing that with my students. The field of education offers endless rewards, from shaping the future of our society to making a positive impact on individual lives,” she explains.

Audrey shares the profound impact that the Faculty of Education Alumni Scholarship has made in her life beyond financial support, “it allows me to invest in additional professional development opportunities, enhancing my teaching skills and benefitting my future students. It also enables me to explore emerging issues relevant to the 21st-century classroom.”

Insights on life as a student

She offers a wide range of insights as a current student, from resources to opportunities for students to connect and engage with each other, “events like the B.Ed. Program Day provide valuable insights into innovative teaching practices and foster connections with educators from across Manitoba. Additionally, the Faculty’s extended program option has been instrumental in helping me manage my studies while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Furthermore, the Education Student Council serves as a platform for students to contribute, advocate, and make a positive impact within the student community.”

Audrey Sauler embodies the essence of Education, with a commitment to growth and lifelong learning.
