Humanitarian Award Recipient, Dr. Orest Cap Appointed to a Professorship
The Faculty of Education Congratulates Dr. Orest Cap on his appointment to professorship (Faculty of Philosophy) by the Academic Senate of the Ukrainische Freie Universitat (UFU). UFU is a leading private graduate university locate in Munich, Germany.
Dr. Orest Cap is recognized for his significant contributions to the people of the Province of Chernihiv, Ukraine. In 2010 he was selected for a Humanitarian Award from the Chernihiv Oblasna Rada and the Oblasna Derzavna Adminstratsia (Chernihiv Provincial Council and Provincial Government) located in Ukraine. Dr. Cap was the first foreigner selected to receive the award.
Dr. Cap was honoured for his instrumental work in establishing the Chernihiv State Teacher Innovation Award Project at Hohol State University in Nizhen, Ukraine and then at Chernihiv State Pedagogical University om Chernihiv, Ukraine. In addition, he helped to establish a successful social services network that currently aids a physically and mentally challenged population in Chernihiv who were affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
