Flag lowered for Shirley Fontaine

The flag at the administration building at the University of Manitoba will be lowered on May 1 for Shirley Fontaine.

She graduated with degrees from the University of Manitoba, including a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education, and was pursuing completion of a PhD in Education prior to her death on April 26. Fontaine was also one of the youngest First Nations instructors at the U of M when she began teaching her Anishinaabe language.
