Fall 2024 and Winter 2025 Registration Time!
It’s almost time to register for your Fall and Winter Term classes. Here’s everything you need to know.
Registering for Courses
To view your registration time (available June 28th):
- Log into Aurora.
- Select the “Open Registration Dashboard” card.
- Select ‘Registration Time and Status’.
- Choose the Academic Term from the dropdown menu to see your registration access time.
To register:
- Log into Aurora.
- Select the “Open Registration Dashboard” card.
- Follow the menus to register for your courses. Alternatively – you will find a step-by-step guide to registration and course selection on our Steps to Registration page.
A few notes:
- If you can’t access your registration, make sure you are accessing Aurora during your registration access time.
- Make sure you clear any holds that prevent registration before your registration time.
- Once your registration opens, you will have 24/7 access to register for courses in Aurora until registration closes.
Waitlists:
Some courses have a waitlist option, notifying you via UM email when a space opens. Ensure you check it frequently.
You must choose either to register for an open section or join a waitlist.
You cannot:
- Register in a course and waitlist other sections of the same course.
- Waitlist a course that conflicts with another registered course.
Student ID Cards
Your Student ID card, featuring your photograph, is essential for accessing many student services. Always carry it with you. Obtain your card after registering, preferably before classes start, to avoid long wait times.

- Date: August 26 – September 6
- Location: UMSU University Centre room 102B
Fees
Please note that tuition fees will not be available immediately after registration. Your tuition fees for Fall 2024 / Winter 2025 will be available to view in Aurora by mid-August. You will not receive a statement in the mail.
- Fall 2024 Tuition Fees Due: Wednesday, October 2, 2024
- Winter 2025 Tuition Fees Due: Tuesday, February 5, 2025

Important Dates and Deadlines
Registration:
- Registration Times available as of June 28, 2024.
- New student registration begins Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
- Returning student registration begins Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Revision Period (Add/Drop) Deadlines:
- The last day to drop a course (with a refund) is one working day prior to the last day to add.
- Fall Term:
- Last day to drop: Tuesday, September 17, 2024
- Last day to add: Wednesday, September 18, 2024
- Winter Term:
- Last day to drop: Friday, January 17, 2025
- Last day to add: Monday, January 20, 2025
