June 24, 2022 —

Dr. Ee-Seul Yoon has been appointed co-editor with Dr. Jeannie Kerr of the University of Winnipeg as the new anglophone editor for the Canadian Journal of Education. Dr. Yoon is an Associate Professor at the Educational Administration, Foundations & Psychology department from the Faculty of Education. The Canadian Journal of Education (CJE) is read by scholars around the world, and “aims to represent the valuable contributions that Canadian scholars in education continue to make to the field.”

Dr. Ee-Seul Yoon

The Canadian Journal of Education (CJE) is a premium national peer-reviewed open-access journal that publishes Canadian research and scholarly writing on education. The CJE is a forum for sharing ideas, connecting theory to practice and policy, and showcasing cutting-edge research on critical and contemporary issues that are germane to scholars, educators, practitioners, the public, and policy makers nationally and worldwide.

“I feel tremendously honoured to uphold the high standards of this premier Canadian journal as co-editor for the next three years. Dr. Kerr and I will begin our term by introducing an ‘online first’ step in publication, whereby as soon as an article is accepted, it will be available for online dissemination!”

Dr. Yoon’s scholarship is interdisciplinary, drawing from sociology, human geography, and critical policy studies. Her research aims to better understand how the marketization and privatization of education impact equity, diversity, and inclusion in Canadian education systems.
