The Discussion Paper: Implementing a Dent3 Multi-Disciplinary Comprehensive Care Clinic is now available for all College of Dentistry staff to view.

Traditionally, dental schools have taught clinical dental skills by having students rotate through a number of discipline-based clinics, supervised by specialty faculty. This model of clinical dental education has fallen out of favor in many jurisdictions and is being replaced with model where students provide patient care in a manner and setting similar to a general dental practice. This latter approach is based on Cognitivist educational theory, which informs us that the best means to ensure that a new graduate can function as a general dentist is to train them in the general practice environment.
