An image from "The Botanical Magazine; or, Flower-Garden Displayed". Written by William Curtis and printed by Stephen Couchman in London in 1794, this periodical contains descriptions and hand-coloured prints of a variety of flowering and non-flowering plants.
Celebrating Botany, Books, and Beyond
Join us to celebrate the launch of an exhibition of contemporary artists’ books and the acquisition of Kew Garden’s journal Curtis’s Botanicals donated to the University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by the family of renowned Manitoba horticulturalist Frank Skinner.
In addition, early botanicals from the early 1700s and on from the Rare Book Room of Archives & Special Collections will be displayed.
