Celebrate the class of 2024 at Spring Convocation
Honorary degrees will also be conferred on exceptional individuals
Convocation ceremonies for Spring 2024 graduates from the Fort Garry campus will be held from June 4 – 7, 2024.
A separate ceremony will be held for graduating students from the Bannatyne campus on May 16, 2024. Université de Saint-Boniface convocation will be held on June 10, 2024.
Guests can attend in person or stream the ceremonies online.

HONORARY DEGREE RECIPIENTS
The honorary degree is the highest honour the University of Manitoba can confer upon an individual for distinguished achievement in scholarship, the arts, or public service. The Spring 2024 Honorary Degree recipients will be honoured at the following ceremonies:
- May 16 at 10:00 a.m. – Dr. Graham David Sher, O.C.
- June 6 at 9:00 a.m. – Marion Ironquil Meadmore, O.C.
- June 6 at 2:30 p.m. – The Honourable Anita R. Neville, P.C., O.M.
- June 7 at 9:30 a.m. – Xiaohua (Shawn) Qu
COMMUNICATIONS TO GRADUATES
Those who declared their graduation before the January 19th deadline would have already received email communications. Those who were added to the list after the deadline will begin to receive emails within the next week. These emails will provide instructions on how to sign up for convocation, claim your academic attire, and what to expect from this year’s ceremonies.
The deadline to declare your intent to graduate for Spring Convocation 2024 was on January 19th 2024.
GRADUATION POW WOW
The 35th Annual Traditional Graduation Pow Wow at UM will take place on Saturday, May 4 at the Investors Group Athletic Centre. All Indigenous graduates (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) in 2023-2024 are encouraged to participate. Read the Graduation Pow Wow UM Today story for more information.
