CBC: Prof comments on provincial PC leader’s ‘infidel atheists’ remark
December 3, 2013 —
An “awkward” joke? Or an offensive gaffe? Political studies assistant professor Royce Koop commented in a cbc.ca news story on Manitoba’s Progressive Conservative leader Brian Pallister’s recent defense of his ‘infidel atheists’ remark in a video for a local YouTube news channel run by former Winnipeg cable TV host Natalie Pollock. Koop gave his impression of the video as a joke gone bad. “The joke didn’t really seem to go over too well. It had kind of an ‘awkward dad’ quality to it,” he said.
