Campaign publication wins CASE Grand Gold
The University of Manitoba has won a prestigious Grand Gold award in the 2015 Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Circle of Excellence competition for the Take Your Place – Front and Centre: The Campaign for the University of Manitoba publication.
The Grand Gold is the highest honour awarded in the Circle of Excellence competition, which recognizes outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing as judged by peer professionals at schools, colleges and universities as well as by professionals from outside education.
In 2015, CASE received more than 3,200 entries for consideration in nearly 100 categories by more than 720 member higher education institutions, independent schools and nonprofits from around the world. Judges gave 307 awards: 93 bronze; 106 silver, 91 gold and 17 grand gold.
Judges were impressed by the storytelling approach and integration of the campaign priorities in the Take Your Place publication. Judges also noted themes of strength and resurgence and an obvious pride in the province and its people: “This is a beautiful publication that captures the University of Manitoba through photos and descriptions.”
The University of Manitoba also received a Silver award for #weekofthanks, the new donor relations appreciation initiative that culminated in National Philanthropy Day on November 15, 2014.
#WeekofThanks was conceived as a way to thank donors while educating the campus community on the impact of philanthropy on their experiences at the U of M through a variety of tactics.
