Bison selected as Athlete of the Week

Bison football quaterback Jordan Yantz was selected Canada West Offence Football Athlete of the Week for week seven of the 2013 season.

He earned this honour from his performance in a crucial road game against the Saskatchewan Huskies, leading the team to victory over the Huskies for the first time since the 2006 season.  With a 33-26 win on Friday, October 18, Manitoba clinched a playoff spot and now has a chance to host a playoff game.

Yantz went 18-32 for a 364 passing yards with four touchdowns and one interception,  and also added 50 rushing yards on seven carries.

This is the third time that a Manitoba Bisons football player has earned conference player of the week honours in 2013 (week one: Anthony Coombs – offence; week five: Connor Lesperance – defence).
