Bison women’s hockey shutout Pronghorns

The Manitoba Bison women’s hockey team earned its second consecutive shutout over the weekend in Lethbridge.

The herd earned a 1-0 victory against the pronghorns and improve to 7-5-0-0 on the season.

Bison Amanda Schubert earned her second shutout of the season with a 20-save performance.

The Bison women take on Saskatchewan on the road this coming weekend.

MEN’S HOCKEY:

The Bison men’s hockey team fell 5-1 at home to Lethbridge.

“It’s a hard loss for us, having played so well the previous two weekends and not performing to our capability this weekend,” said head coach Mike Sirant. “Lethbridge created a lot of opportunities off the rush and maximized off of that,” said Bisons head coach Mike Sirant.

The Bison men host Saskatchewan at home this coming weekend.

MEN’S BASKETBALL:

The Bison men’s basketball team fell in overtime in their home opener to the Calgary Dinos.

The final score was 90-87. The Bison men are back in action November 20 against the University of Alberta.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL:

The Bison women’s basketball team was defeated in their home opener against the Calgary Dinos 100-71.

“We gave up 35 points in a quarter, and you’re not going to win many games after that,” said Bison Head Coach Michele Hynes.

Hynes also said the herd played well offensively.

Manitoba’s next game is against the University of Alberta on November 20.
