June 18, 2025 —  Oluwafisayo Stephen Ayita likes an academic challenge. He had only just moved to Winnipeg having obtained permanent resident status and was settling into the city with his family when he made a last-minute decision to submit his application for the Master of Laws program at the University of Manitoba on December 11, 2022, four days before the deadline. He was accepted into the program, starting in the fall of 2023, and graduated with his LLM degree at UM’s Spring Convocation on June 4, 2025.

June 18, 2025 —  A documentary outlining the Price Faculty of Engineering’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and respectful, relational, and reciprocal collaboration with Indigenous Peoples, has recently been released.

June 18, 2025 —  UM Environmental Design alum, Thom Fougere created a series of commemorative tables for the G7 summit held recently in Alberta. He is used to be the creative director for EQ3 for a decade before becoming an independent designer, brought on to create the table by Manitoba-based 1x1 Architecture.

June 17, 2025 —  As a child growing up in Australia in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Samara Hand wasn’t taught much about Indigenous peoples or cultures in school. Today, the visiting doctoral researcher argues that exploring the fundamental assumptions of education systems and considering alternative models can open possibilities for an education system that is grounded in, and honours, Indigenous ways of knowing.
