July 23, 2024 —  When Peri Venkatesh [MN/91] arrived in Manitoba in 1971, he was unsure what career path he would take. Nursing and education weren’t even considerations at the time.

July 23, 2024 —  Joy Bajwa, 3rd year Environmental Design student, co-op placement at Gillis Quarries Limited helps supplement his education by developing and enhancing various skills to hands-on learning and skills with practical experience.

July 23, 2024 —  Dr. Kent Fowler and his team of students recently travelled to South Africa to continue their research on the Zulu Kingdom Archaeology Project. The SSHRC Insight and Insight Development grants funded the project from 2020 to 2026. The research is being conducted in the heartland of the Zulu Kingdom in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

July 22, 2024 —  The Faculty of Law has been busy hosting a variety of Justice-related events this summer while law students are away working and gaining hands-on legal practice experience. On May 6th-7th, 2024, the University of Manitoba and the Manitoba Law Foundation hosted the first annual Access to Justice Forum. This year the focus of the Forum was supporting A2J for Indigenous & racialized communities in Manitoba. The Forum included presentations from Marc Kruse (Director of Indigenous Legal Learning and Services, U of M, Faculty of Law), Laurelle Harris, K.C. (Equitable Solutions Consulting) and the British Columbia Indigenous Justice Centre.

July 22, 2024 —  On an island less than half the size of Prince Edward Island (and former home to the dodo bird, no less), an engineer, a financial risk associate and 17 of their peers plant saplings at the Mondrain Nature Reserve, a unique way to earn credit in pursuit of their MBAs at the Asper School of Business. From April 22 to 26, 19 Asper MBA candidates travelled to the Republic of Mauritius, an island nation about 2,000 km off the coast of Madagascar, for the annual MBA study tour.
