A Pride to remember
A look back at Pride 2019 in photos
In alliance with Pride Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba celebrated the 2SLGBTQ+ community and the diversity that thrives on its campuses May 27 to June 2 through ceremony, events and participation in one of Manitoba’s largest festivals.
The official U of M Pride flag-raising ceremony, held at the Bannatyne campus on May 27, was followed by a week filled with Zumba, social pub nights and a brilliantly entertaining drag show featuring performers from Sunshine House.
On Sunday, June 2 with thousands of onlookers, more than 300 members and allies of the 2SLGBTQ+ community proudly marched with the University of Manitoba’s parade float at the 32nd annual Winnipeg Pride Parade.
In its fourth year as a Gold Level sponsor of Pride Winnipeg, U of M’s largest walking group to-date was represented by members of the UMQueer Committee, U of M students, faculty, staff, Mini U Programs, Bisons (and Billy of course), Rainbow Pride Mosaic, the LGBTTQI* Interest Group from the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, UMSU and many other friends and family.
