A Message to Teacher Candidates from Dr. Robert B. Macmillan, Dean of the Faculty of Education
Welcome back and I hope you had a wonderful holiday!
The Winter term is an exciting time. For some, it is the final stretch of their B.Ed. Program, while for others who are returning from their first practicum experience, it is a time to reflect, inquire, and explore new strategies. However, all of you now have a clearer idea of the rewarding profession you have chosen and I encourage all students who want help or advice, to speak with the faculty and staff as you move forward.
Specifically to those who are looking for work following graduation, every member of the faculty, including myself, has experienced the anxiety associated with finding a job and may be able to help you by suggesting some strategies.
To help you prepare for your career as an educator, the Faculty of Education is pleased to announce the installation of Smartboards in some classrooms. Currently we have 8 in operation, and over the coming weeks, we will have an additional 9 installed. During the installation of the remaining units, some classes may be displaced temporarily, but these disruptions will be kept to a minimum.
I wish you every success for 2012.
Dr. Robert B. Macmillan
