Wpg Free Press: Shoe shines and smiles
September 20, 2016 —
University of Manitoba students put their best foot forward last week in support of cystic fibrosis research.
Led by students in I.H Asper School of Business and the Commerce Students’ Association, students shined shoes at the Fort Garry campus and throughout Winnipeg on Sept. 16 as part of Shinerama.
“We’ve been working hard, spending hours on end to beat our fundraising goal of $40,000,” University of Manitoba campaign co-chair Aly Bowles said in a statement.
At press time, the group had raised $15,000. Shinerama is Canada’s largest post-secondary, student-run fundraising campaign, according to organizers, and all funds go to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
